A Legacy of Authentic Italian Cuisine

Colosseo Ristorante Italiano was established in 1973 in the heart of Winnipeg's historic "Little Italy" on Corydon Avenue. For over five decades, we have been proudly serving authentic Italian cuisine, making us one of the longest-standing restaurants in the city and the sole surviving original Italian establishment in the neighbourhood.

The restaurant was incorporated on April 30, 2001, under the name Colosseo Ristorante Italiano Inc., but our roots go back much further — to a time when Corydon Avenue was bustling with Italian immigrants sharing their culinary traditions with Winnipeg.

Through changing culinary trends and economic cycles, Colosseo has remained a constant — a place where families gather, celebrations happen, and memories are made over plates of house-made pasta and wood-fired pizza.

Meet Carlos & Brenda Rodas

Colosseo Ristorante Italiano is owned and operated by Carlos Rodas and Brenda Rodas. As Owner/Operator, Brenda is known for her warm hospitality and personal attention to every guest who walks through our doors.

Regular patrons frequently mention Brenda's hands-on approach — from greeting diners at the door to personally rushing to prepare favourite dishes upon arrival. As one long-time customer noted, "The owners are amazing and are very hands on."

The Rodas family has maintained the restaurant's deep roots in Winnipeg's Little Italy heritage, preserving the traditions of authentic Italian cuisine while adapting to modern tastes over the decades.
